Job summary As a member of the Healthcare Evaluative Research team, the Senior Economist is responsible for conducting research and analysis in the areas of health services research and/or health economics to support health policy evaluation and development. How you will make a difference Preparing academic research papers related to physician and population health interests; Conducting analysis using large healthcare administrative databases, survey datasets, and external data sources as appropriate to address policy relevant research questions. Collaborating with other departments in evaluating existing datasets and identify information gaps that need to be filled; Preparing reports, presentations, and data visualizations for various departments, committees and other partners to explain research and analytic findings; Developing and strengthen relationships with external partners to identify opportunities to share information, collaborate on projects and influence outcomes. Requirements that are important to us Ph D in Health Servies Research, Economics, or equivalent; 2-5 years’ relevant experience; Demonstrated expertise with statistical/economic software, including SAS, STATA, and related applications; Knowledge of Ontario’s healthcare system, OMA’s role, and key data/ information sources (e. g. CIHI, OHIP, OPRC). The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
