Stack Teck Systems Ltd. is located 8 km north of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. The position of CNC Lathe Machinist (Hard Turning) is responsible for set up and operation of CNC lathe machine to machine internal and external diameters and forms on hardened steel injection mold components. The incumbent will demonstrate experience machining components to tight tolerances. This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager, Finishing Department MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpret engineering drawings to determine specifications, set up and operating requirements Complete first run inspection and complete spot checks for conformance to specifications Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment Set up and operate a CNC Lathe to produce finished components/parts Work to defined tolerances Write, edit and load CNC programs Observe numerical displays on control panel and compare with data on process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speeds or machining cuts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Post-Secondary education in General Machining, CNC Programming, or Mechanical focus would be preferred Minimum 5 years’ of relevant hands-on machining experience, preference in a machine shop setting Ability to understand and interpret engineering.
