Summary: The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will be responsible for maintenance and repair of our trucks and trailers. This position will report directly to the Regional Operations Supervisor. The Mechanic’s responsibilities will also include keeping inventory, conduct diagnostic tests, assist technicians, as well as any other shop related tasks. Schedule: Daily reporting to Red Rock hub with service calls into the field via a company provided vehicle This position provides a set shift schedule that allows you to get home at the end of each shift Monday to Friday. Some weekends and on call shifts may be required. Duties & Responsibilities: Assisting with the overall plant and fleet operations in the region, while contributing to a safe working environment. Diagnose problems with vehicles and schedule repairs Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks Commercial Vehicle Inspections as well as quarterly inspections Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades Operate a forklift Maintain parts inventory, and company vehicle Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Regional Manager or Supervisor Requirements: The best suited candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of diesel mechanic.
