Create a positive working environment that encourages creativity, development and passion. Following and inspiring Rafters vision and ethos of one team. " IF WE CAN WE WILL" Main duties: this list is not exhaustive Lead from the front and nurture your team Maintain a positive working environment Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen Prepare rotas in advance and ensure the team are receiving their rota two weeks ahead Ensure hours are kept under control inline with contracts and that the team are taking necessary breaks. Keep overtime to a minimum and give hours back where possible Ensure we have cover for staff holiday and/or sickness Ensure the team are provided with healthy, nutritious, cost effective and delicious staff food at the appropriate times Monitor and sign off on all holiday allowance Participation in continual professional development Overseeing the maintenance of the kitchen equipment and organising repairs where necessary Ensure new starters are trained on our food safety policy, safer food better business and that existing staff are offered additional training where relevant Carry out appraisals with the team using our start, stop, continue development procedure and that you set goals based on this Create and maintain ongoing relationships with suppliers to procure.
