Org Level 1 Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr Org Level 7 131001 - Rural and Comm Health Lbk Position Description The IT Support Specialist I’s scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of software applications, customized applications, and websites, etc Requisition ID 18849BR Travel Required Up to 25% Major/Essential Functions This position includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of basic hardware and some software support and maintenance. This position will also specialize in hardware and software relevant to the department or unit, and manage area or unit IT projects in support of business operations. This position must use independent judgement to complete all aspects of the position.Install & manage computer based systems.Act as PC support liaison and technical support to institute staff.Specify and facilitate the purchase of hardware & software assets for the institute. Manage institute's inventory and inventory process for all hardware and software owned by the Institute.Maintain security and integrity of institute's infrastructure.Train staff in usage of system needed to perform their duties.Provide IT Project support and troubleshooting for problems that arise in institute's systems & projects.Adhere to all appropriate institutional policies and other relevant departmental policies.Grant support for technology in the form of best practices research, recommendations, and providing reports of specifications to best meet grant requirements.Serves as the institute's liaison between TTUHSC I.T. in matters regarding I.T. security, VOIP systems, server support, and networking with TTUHSC I.T. to facilitate continuous functionality. Yes Minimum Hire Rate 14.48 Pay Basis Hourly Work Location Lubbock Preferred Qualifications Coursework in computer science, and computer information systems.Strong understanding of I.T. systems (networking, computer architecture, and security practices).Experience with TTUHSC IT processes and policies.Experience with A+ or Network+Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Campus HSC - Lubbock Department Rural and Comm Health Lbk Job Type Full Time Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
