The City of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, population 8,600, is seeking a Fire Chief. Candidate will report to the City Administrator and supervises a combination department of 9 full-time employees and up to 35 paid-on-call personnel. Serves as the City's fire marshal and is responsible for all fire investigations. HS diploma or GED and 5+ years of fire department command leadership and management experience at a level of captain or assistant chief. Associate or bachelor degree in fire science or fire administration preferred. Experience in a combination department highly desired. Requires Firefighter I, Firefighter II, HAZ-MAT Technician and NIMS certifications upon appointment and emergency medical technician and fire inspector certifications within 12 months of appointment. Qualified candidates will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of fire and emergency services and a record of establishing sound working relationships in the department and in the broader community. Must have previous administrative and supervisory experience, excellent oral and written communication skills and working knowledge of basic computer software. Salary range of $81,701-$106,209 depending on qualifications. Competitive benefits package and participation in the Public Employees Retirement Association & the East Grand Forks Fire Department Relief Association.
