The Data Analyst for Network Engagement and Performance designs and develops methods and systems to consolidate and analyze large and complex sets of data to generate insights and solutions in support of the United Way Network of local markets. The Data Analyst uses software programs, algorithms and statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports and visualizations used to draw insights into network performance. Identifies, gathers, summarizes and analyzes data aligned to the core business drivers and transformation projects. Identifies and communicates any data related issues/recommendations to the team, so they can quickly develop a resolution. Work with management to prioritize business and information needs. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties of Position: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level: Consult with team to prioritize key data sources, conduct analysis, identify key performance indicators, and create dashboards and reports. Design, develop program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse data sources to generate actionable insights. Work with IT to create conceptual, logical, physical and dimensional data models to deliver analytical solutions. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and communicate insights and findings from analysis. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Design and develop business intelligence solutions to make it easier for everyone to explore data, uncover new insights and take action. Manage projects as assigned. Other Duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Minimum requirements include: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience At least five years of progressive experience in a similar role Previous work experience as an analyst or a strong analytic background Must have exceptional written and oral communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Must be comfortable working in an executive, fast-paced office with tight deadlines. Confidentiality extremely important. Experience Data mapping competencies and ability to understand systems architecture and programming constructs such as APIs, data models and ER diagrams Experience planning and coordinating trips and appearances for executive management a strong plus Comfortable and able to challenge conclusions and impact business outcomes Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, and collaborate with cross functional teams to get desired results Must have strong skills with Microsoft Office, particularly with PowerPoint and Outlook. Strong knowledge of information retrieval programs (Focus, Business Objects) and tools: SQL, Excel, Data Analysis Java, SQL, etc. Must have demonstrated research and project management skills, possess a strong work ethic, enjoy working collaboratively, be capable of working independently This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
