Description:
General Summary: Receives cash, checks and other tender from customers in payment of bills and purchases. Posts amounts to customer accounts and issues receipts, if requested. Searches records to verify accuracy of billing and payments. May perform other records maintenance incidental to the receipt of payments. Essential Job Functions: Receives payments from customers, posts payments to appropriate accounts and issues receipts as requested. Verifies accuracy of billings and payments by searching computer records. Prepares various reports and records related to cash receipts including cash reports and deposit reports. Files records and reports as appropriate. Counts and balances cash drawers. Prepares daily bank deposits. May provide information and promote company products and services to walk-in customers. Performs all other duties as assigned by management.* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of company products and services. Knowledge of company policies and procedures. Knowledge of general office procedures. Knowledge of basic cashiering and bookkeeping practices. Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax, two-way radio and telephone systems. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to work with frequent interruptions. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to effectively function as a team player. Ability to operate 10-key adding machine by touch. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent plus one (1) year of general bookkeeping experience required. Bilingual is a plus.
