The HR Generalist will provide HR support to Baker Commercial Landscaping in the Orlando, Florida Headquarters with regular visits to the Tampa, Florida site . The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the VP of Administrative Management as an advisor in HR processes and in supporting employees in the Orlando and Tampa Location. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Recruitment, Hiring, onboarding, orientation, introductory period collaboration with Hiring Managers, assistance with benefits administration, employee relations, employee handbook and policy implementation, off-boarding and employment regulations compliance. Provide administrative support to the Safety Committee; Ensure new hires have adequate uniforms and safety gear as well as meet the criteria for Safety and OSHA guidelines Recruitment, Interviewing, Hiring, Onboarding and Orientation Conducts Recruiting, Interviewing, Hiring and Onboarding of talent into the organization. Coordinate Orientation and onboarding responsibilities including Drug Free Workplace Initiative and pre-employment screening; Coordinate with the Operations Team and Hiring Managers for hiring support and follow-up; Ensure new employees attend orientation sessions and review of employee handbook and policies; Monitor Career website and applicant tracking system (ATS) and posting of vacant positions; Update postings and policies for new hires; Develop, maintain employee personnel files and medical files for each new hire; Coordinate with Hiring Managers to ensure new hires complete their 90- day introductory reviews and annual reviews; Coordinate with current HRIS system for reporting and processing Ensure new hires are offered health benefits and voluntary benefits when eligible Safety & Workers Compensation Administration Coordinate the administrative safety process including scheduling, taking minutes, submitting newsletter communications; Coordinate with the Workers Compensation vendor to update renewals, process claims and develop a tracking metrics to provide updates to management on status of injuries Track reports of injuries and ensure the workers compensation process is followed Provide regular onsite inspections; Provide and inspect PPE usage (boots, ear/eye protection, hats, gloves, safety vests, etc.); Coordinate with Managers to track request, receive, and store PPE equipment and report all incidents at the safety meeting; Ensure OSHA reporting and guidelines are processed according to regulations; Management of property management claims; Coordinate Driver Safety Initiatives; Coordinate Return to Work Program; Coordinate with external vendors on FMLA, Personal Leave and other outsourcing HR programs. Employee Relations Monitor and track the Grievance Procedure process; Ensure you inform your Supervisor of the list of grievance issues raised by employees; Collaborate with your Supervisor and the external HR Compliance Advisor on employee relations issues; Conduct exit interviews to assess retention trends. HR Administration Prepares severance letters, severance calculations, retention agreements and any other separation documents required as well as conducting exit interviews; Regular site visits to the Tampa, Florida location; Review Time Reporting process and ensure all non-exempt employees have completed time reporting process and overtime calculations; Ensure processing and calculating overtime hours; Coordinate and process re-employment claims; Assist with child support processing and tracking; Payroll back up for payroll administration; Provide STD, and LTD paperwork. Coordinate Labor Posters for Orlando/Tampa locations Other Projects as Assigned Desired Skills & Experience and Qualifications The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education, experience, skills and qualities: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; BA - administration, HRCI/SHRM Certification or in process of obtaining 5 years minimum HR experience or equivalent, with thorough knowledge of employment practices regulations, FMLA, ADA, DOL, EEOC, DHS, and COBRA requirements, typical hiring and termination practices and knowledge of policies & procedures development, HR Poster compliance; Good judgement, Full confidentiality, Professionalism; Ability to multi-task; Ability to collaborate across all departments and disciplines Other Skills Bilingual Spanish Desired; Active and proficient in Social Media Recruitment methods; Strong organization and presentation skills; Detailed and process orientation are required. Must have ability to conduct effective presentations at all leadership levels, inside and outside of the organization; Excellent written and oral communication skills. Technology Excellent computer skills including full proficiency in MS Office productivity suite and Professional HR and Recruitment experience; Strong organization, facilitation, communication skills; Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication.
