General Summary of Duties: Responsible for performing CAT scan procedures. Examples of Duties: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned) Greets patients and provides instructions on procedures. Positions patient and adjusts equipment, selecting length and intensity for radiation exposure on an individual basis. Observes patient for vital signs during the procedure. Follows safety standards and uses radiation protection when operating radiologic equipment. Develops and processes radiologic film. Examines radiologic film for technical properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion. Delivers film to radiologists for reading and interpretation. Releases patient upon completion of an examination. Maintains examination rooms. Stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies. Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. Enhances professional growth and development through in-service meetings and education programs. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs related work as required. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma/GED. Completion of Technical/Vocational course approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Experience: One year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred, along with six months of CT experience. Computer experience required. Certificate/License: Current certification (ARRT) with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and State of Florida licensure.
