Shelby Energy Company , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shelby Electric Cooperative, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Generator Service Technician Assistant. This position is a Part-Time, temporary posistion that will work our normal operating hours of Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. It is imperative that this person provide courteous, friendly service to our customers and visitors. This position will assist the Generator Service Technician in most all aspects of that position. Physical Requirements Must be able to daily walk, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, use hand tools to manipulate objects, operate tools and power equipment, drive a Company truck, and regularly lift between 50 - 75 pounds without assistance. On occasion, may need to lift objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Essential Job Duties Assist with troubleshooting and repair of generators. Assit with the delivery and installation of generators. Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance service and/or repairs of generators. Assist with the detection of faulty operations, defective material, and identify unsafe situations. Assist with the ordering and maintaining all needed material for the installation and repair of generators and related items. Shelby Energy Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
