Director of Nursing - Silver Cross Friendship Manor is a great place to work! We're a faith-based, non-profit, senior living community and we've been a big part of the Quad Cities since 1979. We're looking for a Director of Nursing for our skilled nursing center. In this position, you'll be responsible for the operation of the community, including staff management, financial administration, and building relationships with residents, their families, and friends. Essential Functions Create an atmosphere of collaboration and team-work. Hire, on-board, and train a great team of service-oriented superstars. Lead and develop your management team. Manage the budget and partner with marketing to maintain census. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Nursing Services Department(s)in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guideline that govern Friendship Manor Develop, maintain, review and update the written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the Friendship Manor Nursing Services, Activities, Medical Records, Social Services, MDS Coordinator, Restorative programs, and Interdisciplinary Team Members. Supervise the QAPI process. Continually analyze and evaluate nursing services rendered to improve the quality of resident care and plan better utilization of staff time and activities. Assist the Abuse Coordinator in fulfilling all regulatory requirements including notification to Illinois Department of Public Health, Nursing Board, C.N.A. Board, Law Enforcement as required. Assume Abuse Coordinator duties as needed Integral to all regulatory surveys - IDPH and Federal Director Knowledge, skills, abilities, and requirements Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a long term health care environment Must possess restorative and rehabilitative nursing experience Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. Must be able to relate the information concerning a resident's condition.
