Description:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at BCMC will perform clinical anesthesia duties and take appropriate responsibility for direct patient care, and for on-calls as assigned. This position operates in rotation with other CRNAs and the expectation is one week on/one week off. BCMC is required to be in compliance with CMS regulations regarding the Covid-19 Vaccination. Medical/religious exemptions are available. This is Safety Sensitive position. Position Accountabilities: Prioritize anesthetic decisions, administer anesthetic agents under department protocols and guidelines, and communicate patient status to healthcare team members Assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. Prior to surgery, perform an assessment of the patient. Make sure that the patient is properly sedated and impervious to pain during surgery. Check patient's vital signs during surgery. After surgery, oversees the patient's post-procedural recovery, including basic needs such as walking and eating. Education/Licenses: Must have graduated from a nationally accredited anesthesia program. Current AR licensure as a RN and a CRNA certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. ACLS certification required. Other Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient/staff needs. Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Will be required to be on call within 30 minutes of arrival while on call.
