See job title and details below: JOB SUMMARY: The Bartender is responsible for selling, preparing and serving mixed beverages, wine and food. Duties include preparing and serving beverages, overseeing bar maintenance, making menu suggestions, delivering food and drinks, describing the dishes to guests, recommending cocktails, beer, wine selections, monitoring guest satisfaction, and managing inventory. Must be pleasant, conscientious, and professional with an extensive knowledge of mixology, beverage related products, and alcoholic beverage selections. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, and ensure smooth service operations and quality service. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent. Minimum 3-4 years of bartending and/or mixology experience. Knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least 5 years of dining room experience and thorough knowledge of bartending and service procedures. Extensive spirits, cocktail, wine, beer knowledge preferred. Proficiency in food and beverage menu. Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean. Able to handle multiple tasks, adapt to change and work well in an environment with time constraints. Cleanliness, organization, and the ability to work well in a team situation. Excellent Customer Service Skills and Vibrant Personality. Strong attention to detail. Ability to actively listen and communicate effectively. High school or equivalent education required. Possess excellent math skills and have previous cash handling skills using a POS system. Responsive to constructive feedback from Chefs or Managers. Obtain a Bartender's card from the Liquor Commission. SOFT SKILLS NEEDED(necessary personal attributes): Clear communication and listening skills Empathy, conflict resolution and a positive attitude Top-tier time management, multitasking, and situational awareness skills Overall vibe of friendliness, optimism, enthusiasm, and teamwork TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED: Basic math and arithmetic skills Phone communication and rapport building POS system knowledge Proper cash handling COMPENSATION: $12/hour plus tips. This is going to be a high-traffic and desirable bar to go to! Wage negotiable dependent on experience and/or overall personal characteristics. This is a full time position that includes benefits. INTERVIEW PROCESS: 2 interviews total: 1st interview will be via Video Call; 2nd interview will be in-person at Ala Moana. 3rd interview may be requested.
