Come join Child & Family Service and help us serve thousands in our communities! SUMMARY OF DUTIES Conducts intake and initiates all necessary forms required by the program/CFS to open case. Establish participant rapport and trust and provides empathetic encouragement and support to participants. Conducts initial assessment in collaboration with Clinical Specialist. In collaboration with family, Clinical Specialist, and CWS develops a family service plan focusing on child development goals and addressing reduction of stress as indicated in initial assessment. Administers child development screens and other appropriate assessments as identified. Maintains a list of collaborative contacts and community services pertinent to participant' needs. Develops a plan to energize participant to take action. Provides information and referral services to community resources and agencies. Provided participant transportation. Attends case conference with other disciplines or team members. Maintains participant confidentiality at all times. Participates in program staff meetings, meets with supervisor on a regular basis, and attends training and other staff development activities especially on topics related to cultural/ethnic diversity, child abuse and neglect and child development/behavior management. Maintains case recording, mileage logs, and other miscellaneous reports in a timely fashion. Flexible provision of services that accommodate the families' needs and adjust schedules to be available evenings and weekends. EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) years of experience. EXPERIENCE 2 years experience required. Requires experience in working with parents/caretakers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and who experienced trauma and loss. Experience in working with domestic violence, substance use concerns abuse, and permanency issues. Possess a willingness to work with others, including clients coping with multiple issues, families that present safety issues, and co-workers, as part of a team. OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS Also requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
