Description:
Electronics Technician II, SCA 30082 Location: St. Inigoes, MD Minimum Clearance Required: Secret Travel Requirement : At least 50% of the time. This position requires extensive travel due to work needing to be conducted within laboratory operations and conduct ship repair work. As an Electronics Technician II, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the LAMPS MK III system equipment and sub-equipment. Additionally, you will be applying advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufactures manuals or similar documents. Who You Are and What You Need: High school diploma or GED plus U.S. Navy Electronics "B" or "C" school or equivalence OR Associate's degree from an accredited college in electronics technology or an electronics discipline Must possess six (6) years of practical experience with two (2) years specific involvement with the data link systems OR possess a minimum of six (6) years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems to component level. Four (4) of the six (6) years of experience shall be with LAMPS MK III or other data link systems. Excellent customer service and organization skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS destinations up to 50% of the time Experience with shipboard systems highly preferred What You Will Do: Provide technical support for the LAMPS MK III system equipment and sub-equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufactures manuals or similar documents including determining the location of faults in dense circuitry, isolating malfunctions and incorporating engineering changes. Maintains repairs, inspects, troubleshoots, and programs systems equipment or components. Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares and applies engineering, technical and maintenance specifications, policies, standards and procedures. Organizes, analyzes and prepares reports and presentations of technical data and information. Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems and/or system components. Compiles, processes, reduces, and analyzes test data and results. Provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians as needed.
