Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - 2nd Shift

Harrison Steel has an opening on third shift in their First Aid department for an EMT. This position treats all medical, injury, or accident events that occur on company property. Duties include: Provides medical treatment to employees should they become sick or injured on the job Serves in the capacity of senior emergency medical technician, determine the nature and extent of illness or injury, or magnitude of to establish first aid procedures to be followed or need for additional services Keeps records of all employees who receive medical treatment both by first aid and outside medical facilities. Fills out appropriate accident reports for workman's compensation purposes Fills in at the main gate as security personnel monitoring traffic and alarms and answering calls Qualifications and Skills Independently motivated and maintains confidentiality Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail Certified with a CPR Level C Possess a valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A, B, P, or I) or First Responder/Fire Fighter certification Work Environment: The employee regularly work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Also exposure to outdoor weather conditions, non-weather related extreme cold, water and humidity, and the risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The usual noise level is very loud. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
