FWDthink is expanding our team of IT professionals to include an entry level Network Administrator. Qualified candidates must possess an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance, a current IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate-Security), 2+ years of experience with configuring switches, routers, network appliances and 2+ years of experience troubleshooting routing and switching issues, as well as experience with Fluke Network Analyzers, and Micro Scanner Cable Testers Full-Time & On-Site at JBAB Primary Responsibilities Supporting the Air Force National Capital Region by maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure, as well as providing support to users, documenting network and assisting with implementation of new network technologies. Demonstrated ability to work in a customer environment collaboratively through constraints to meet mission milestones. Excellent written and oral communications skills 2+ years of experience with configuring switches, routers, network appliances 2+ years of experience with troubleshooting routing and switching issues Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise Assist with the creation and implementation of network policies and procedures Perform regular backups of critical data and systems Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher Minimum two (2) years' experience as a Network Administration and IT support in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. DoD IAT Level II (e.g., Sec+ or CCNA Security) Certification Required Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and/or Cisco routers and switches Understanding of firewall configuration and security Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and other networking protocols Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Experience with virtualization software, such as VMware or Hyper-V Experience with cloud services, such as Azure or AWS Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Nagios or Splunk Shift Hours: Dayshift; core support hours are 0600 -1800. This is a 24/7/365 support environment; off-hours response/support may be required. On-Site: Joint-Base Anacostia-Boiling (JBAB)
