Department: Bozeman, MT Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5 unless otherwise needed. Job Status: Full-Time Temporary Summer 2023 (with possible part-time extension). Amount of Travel: 0 - 15% Position Summary Pioneer Technical Services is seeking a Water Resources/ Environmental Engineering intern to be based out of our Bozeman, MT office starting in May 2023. The intern will perform a variety of support tasks associated with ongoing water resources engineering projects in Montana. Specific tasks are expected to include: Perform hydrology and hydraulic analyses. Research, collect, and compile stream survey and flow data. Prepare written reports detailing calculations and results. Assist in report figure design and creation. Read and utilize technical reports. Work with engineers, scientists, and other interns to create high quality deliverables in an efficient and effective manner for clients. Perform occasional administrative support tasks. This is an excellent training and mentoring opportunity for applicants looking to pursue a career in water resources engineering. Skills & Abilities Education: Applicant must currently be enrolled in a college curriculum and preferred field of study of Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources. Prior course work in water resources is preferred. Computer Skills: Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products. Experience with USGS StreamStats, HEC-RAS, GeoHECRAS, Civil3D, and ArcGIS Pro is preferred but not required. Other Requirements: The ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team when solving complex, technical problems is essential. The job requires strong written skills, interpersonal skills, as well as flexibility and enthusiasm in performing a variety of tasks.
