$750 HIRING BONUS Job Location: Orange & Rockland CountyWork Hours: Monday thru Friday - 7:00 am - 3:30 pmRate of Pay: $19 - $21/hrStart Date: January 2023On The Mark Utility Locating Services, Inc. is a utility management service business. Our mission is to effectively and efficiently manage with excellence utilities in such a way as to protect life as well as our environment.Position Summary: Perform tasks involving visits to various excavation sites within assigned responsible territory, but not limited to traveling outside of assigned territory when needed. Drivers to hand out materials and educate excavating contractors on the safe way to excavate per Dig Safely NY or Call 811 before you dig. Promote safe excavation practices in conversations with excavators. Safely drive to excavation locations. Communication throughout the day with dispatchers, area division supervisors and contractors as needed. Data entry of site visits via company provided device. Work Environment:Regularly visits near and inside excavation areas an in outside conditions that include inclement weather, rain, snow, heat and humidity.Minimum qualifications: Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to organize and prioritize daily work. Representing the company and damage prevention program in a professional manner through all interactions/contacts daily. Interaction at team meetings. Knowledge pertaining to excavating is not a requirement, however, is a plus. Candidates will be required to obtain the following NGA Qualifications: Task 6 - Atmospheric Corrosion Task 22 - Inspection of Third Party Excavations for Damage Prevention Task 23/24 - Inspecting the Condition of Exposed Pipe Task 70 - Properties of Natural Gas and Abnormal Operating Conditions Task 70 - Excavation & Backfill Task 85 - Meter Assembly Abnormal Operating Conditions *Note: Considered a plus if you already have these Tasks, however, if not training will be provided to obtain all necessary qualifications.Qualifications: Valid New York State (NYS) driver's license Working cellular smartphone Drug and alcohol free (will be DMV/background checked and drug and alcohol tested.) HS diploma, GED is a plus. Computer knowledge is a plus. COVID Vaccination Preferred but not Required Benefits: Paid on the job training provided Company issued equipment Gas card Company vehicle (may be provided) Note: Candidates using their own vehicle will be asked to provide a copy of their Declaration Page that includes the following coverage ($100,000 / $300,000 - Liability / Bodily Injury and $100,000 - Property Damage) Minimum coverage.
