KHS&S Contractors, one of the largest specialty contractors in the United States, is looking for a full-time entry-level Accountant for its Tampa, Florida office who will be cross-trained in all areas of our accounting department duties, including but not limited to: Assist with month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations and financial statements Post monthly payment applications for all active projects. Accounts payable and accounts receivable data entry and processing. Manage Purchasing Card Program Prepare, update and analyze various reports/spreadsheets Prepare various tax filings, including following up and responding to inquiries from tax agencies. Assist with other duties as assigned or requested. Will be cross-trained in most functions of our central accounting department to be able to back up those functions as needed. A great training ground for someone interested in this type of work. Report to the corporate Controller. Interface with all levels of senior and project management. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications/skills: An interest in Accounting with two years of work experience doing any of the following: data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciling accounts. Work experience with a sophisticated, fully-integrated ERP system. Preferably, some knowledge of basic accounting principals in preparation of full accrual basis financial statements. Be detail-oriented, check for accuracy, completeness and consistency of data received and processed. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Bluebeam and Outlook. Exposure to internal and external vendors/employees in regards to following up compliance of company policies on invoices and expense reports. Desire and ability to operate in a paperless environment. Must be a team oriented person with a "can do" attitude , trustworthy with confidential information, reliable and adaptable.
