Senior Engineer - $85,014-$108,393 Essential duties and responsibilities include: Assists the Development Engineering Assistant City Engineer with updates to ordinances, changes in the Unified Development Code as needed, and updates to the Engineering Design Manual and construction Standards as needed. R eview all preliminary plans, site plans, plats, construction plans, and ROW permit projects. Prepare technical documents necessary to support ordinance requests to the City Council. Assist the Development Engineering Assistant City Engineer with reports, a delegation of projects, and with City Council/Planning and Zoning meetings/agendas including internal department meetings. Works with Environmental Specialist on the City of Pflugerville's MS4 permit, including compliance with state and federal regulations. Assist in negotiating development agreements and contracts as authorized or assigned. Represent the City on various local and regional utility-related work groups and interface with developers, state, county, or municipal representatives, or other city staff members and officials. Report results, follow up on commitments, and make decisions as authorized. Interpret, amend, or update codes and standards as assigned; remain current regarding developing trends and changes in federal, state, and local regulatory practices. Attend and make presentations to City Council and Planning and Zoning Committee meetings, as required; interface with other City and community organizations, as requested. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skill Requirements: Formal Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and/or related field. Relatable Work Experience: Experience in civil engineering, preferably within a municipal or county government and with an emphasis on utility, street, and drainage projects. Certification Qualifications: Valid Class C Texas driver's license and good driving record. Principal Engineer - $89,265-$113,813 Essential duties and responsibilities include: Manages transportation development efforts, MS4 program, and environmental inspections Review and manage traffic impact analysis and the Roadway Impact Fee program Conducts research and prepares written analysis, including recommendations and ordinances, required to implement transportation and environmental policy decisions. Assists with the implementation of long-range planning documents such as the comprehensive plan and master transportation plan. Serves as the ADA Coordinator and Safe Routes to School lead for the City Serve as a support role for City leadership who are participating on various regional boards (ex. CAMPO, CAPCOG) Works on special projects as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skill Requirements: Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering and/or related Field. Relatable Work Experience: 8 years of professional engineering experience. Certification Qualifications: Professional Engineer (P.E.) Benefits Overview: Flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work from home. 10 hours of vacation leave per month, 3 weeks per year. 8 hours of sick leave per month, 12 days per year. Sick leave incentive pay- Employees are compensated in December each year for 25% of their unused sick leave accumulated during the preceding fiscal year. Medical insurance and benefits are provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 50% dependent health benefits premium contribution. Dental benefits are provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 24 hours of paid personal holiday leave each fiscal year. 10 wellness hours each fiscal year for eligible preventive and mental health services. Longevity pay of $8 per month begins with the first anniversary and will be paid on a separate paycheck in December of each year. Retirement plan includes a 7% contribution of an employee's gross salary to the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a City contribution match of 2 to 1 (14%) at retirement. Retirement eligibility requires 5 years of service at age 60 or 20 years of service at any age. Employees also have an additional retirement fund option to participate in a 457 plan. Long-Term Disability is employer-paid and covers 60% of the employee's salary up to $7,500. Military leave provides up to 15 days of paid leave per fiscal year for eligible employees. Education reimbursement assistance up to $5,000 per fiscal year. Employer-paid basic term life insurance policy two (2) times an employee's base salary, up to $325,000 maximum. 40 paid service hours are available to volunteer within our community. Up to 160 hours of paid parental leave to eligible employees following the birth of an employee's child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption, foster care, or other legal placement to care for and bond with the child.
