POSITION TITLE : Loan Officer- Multi-Location REPORTS TO : Branch Manager SUPERVISES: No JOB STATUS : Exempt JOB GRADE 9 : $41,679.30 - $62,518.95 Annually JOB SUMMARY : Successful candidate is responsible for interviewing applicants for loans and processing applications. Additionally, the successful candidate is to gather background information and analyzes loan applicant's credit history and approves or denies loan applications based on analysis of applicant's background. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Interview loan applicants and assist members with the loan application process by telephone and/or in person. Obtain and evaluate credit bureau reports on applicants. Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify debt, estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debt not listed and add them to debts on application. Make sound and sensible decisions through good judgment of credit history, debt ratio percentage; loan to value percentage and loan request circumstance. Approve or deny loan applications and explain reasons for denial. Ensure that each loan is processed accurately and timely as set forth by loan manager. Prepare loan application and document packet for closing and facilitation of loan closing. Understand compliance issues and attends training as they relate to the position. Performs all other assigned duties. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Must have 2 years previous loan approval experience. Some financial institution experience is preferred, including payment processes within the banking industry. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment and be able to type. Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the members and general public. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be capable to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook, including but not limited to: Works in a safety conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace. Adheres to policy on Drug Free Workplace. Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state and federal regulations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires sitting for long periods of time, some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, grasping and fine hand coordination. Visual and aural acuity required. Finger and hand dexterity required. Must be able to lift 15 pounds maximum, with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires ability to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
