SEEKING LINE COOK: BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position): Prepares food according to standardized recipes and approved methods either on the WH101 hot line or in the WH101 pantry. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee or Direct supervisor. Maintains par stock of food items in designated cooking areas. Stores all products in accordance to Oregon Food safety regulations. Executes specials designed by the chef. Cooks items to order using grills, fryers, ovens, steam tables and any other specialized cooking equipment deemed necessary for food production. Assists expeditor in final plate up. Cleans all areas of the W101 kitchen, but is directly responsible for keeping the work area clean during and after the shift. Will act as steward when necessary. Assist in main kitchen prep Preforms temperature and food transfer logs as assigned. Recipe conversions. Has an understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station. Preps and stocks all item necessary as needed throughout the shift. Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience): Must be able to obtain a food handlers card. At least one year of prior experience as a full service line cook. Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT ( the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions ): Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Occasionally sit. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
