We believe that good business creates better value for everyone. Construction Superintendent Reporting to the Director of Field Operations, the Superintendent is the lead role on Collins' job sites. T hey are a critical part of the team responsible for independently leading subcontractors while coordinating all construction activity in the field, interfacing with all project team members (architects, engineers, vendors, client and owner representatives, etc), and ensuring that the project is delivered within its schedule and financial goals. The Superintendent is the Project Manager's primary day-to-day liaison, ensuring that they proactively communicate consistent, accurate, and thorough daily updates (including completing daily reports, maintaining daily project photos, etc), while ensuring they present thoughtful strategies to mitigate potential risks. It will be important for them to maintain a thorough working knowledge of subcontracts and client contracts qualifications so that projects are delivered according to all contractual obligations. Responsibilities include: Monitor daily activities on the construction site Ensure work is of good quality while working with budget and schedule constraints Keep daily reports on progress, compliance, and obstacles Inspect completed and in progress structures and sites for safety, compliance, and conforming to material and structural needs Enforce safety and legal regulations to ensure a safe job site Communicate with subcontractors and field staff to ensure adherence to schedules, plans, and specifications Communicate changes in the field to Assistant PM/PM and subcontractors Attend jobsite meetings with subcontractors on a regular basis Performing construction duties, as needed Work with Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager in creating and maintaining the project schedule, issuing RFI's and processing submittals Verify all permits are acquired as needed Coordinate all inspections on the job site Qualifications and Skills High school diploma required Two- or four-year degree preferred 5 Years + field experience required Ability to use survey equipment for general layouts required Supervisors license required Minimum of 10HR OSHA certified, 30HR preferred Ability to read blueprints and construction documents Ability to take initiative when required Excellent communication and organizational skills and high attention to detail Experience with project management software a plus Must be able to pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Benefit Package Health Vision and Dental Insurance 401K Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Company Vehicle Collins is an equal opportunity employer.
