Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) of Fairbanks, AK is looking to hire a full-time Paralegal as part of the Member Services Division located in Fairbanks, AK . This position earns a competitive wage of $73,960 annually . GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,261 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 35 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Our Paralegal provides paralegal support to all departments within GVEA and administrative legal support to the Director of Member Services and President & CEO. Some of the daily tasks include drafting contracts, agreements, letters, pleadings, petitions and various reports and correspondence at the direction and under the supervision of Director of Member Services, President & CEO and external legal counsel, as applicable. They also assist with reviewing and developing company policies and procedures and monitoring compliance programs. The Paralegal plays an integral role in GVEA's ability to serve the Interior of Alaska in providing reliable electric service at fair and reasonable prices! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PARALEGAL Associate Degree in paralegal studies, criminal justice or similar education required. Five (5) years paralegal experience required. Progressively responsible administrative experience in an office environment requiring priority recognition and high quality work output. Relevant personal computing experience indicative of skills sought for this position. *Note: When applying, applicants must submit a portfolio to the resume section with a minimum of three writing samples. Previous work experience in a Cooperative or Electric Utility would be preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
