MDA/GMD Sim Analyst

Description:
Candidate will support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Simulation Center (GMD). This position involves Independent VV&A, GMD Model & Simulation (M&S) development, integration, and execution for system and element level performance analysis and capability studies for both digital systems, models, and software. The M&S development and execution provides the MDA to generate Monte-Carlo results from GMD M&S in support of MDA program milestones, test events, and special studies. Verification, validation, and accreditation assessments of GMD M&S in support of these GMD program events. Tasks include providing the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense Simulation support with GMD Models and Simulation (M&S) development, integration and event support, including technical management support to ensure the quality of technical products and maintain program scheduled milestones, goals, and objectives, and priorities. Other tasks include develop, modify and analyze all elements of the GMD weapon system, including ground system models and launch system models. These simulations shall be capable of interfacing with a variety of test bed architectures. This includes models such as, but not limited to SPIDER, SIDT, SLMS, NRTSIM, LISIM, Piranha, and GMDSim and testbed architectures including OSF, GTISS, and EDISS. In support of these tasks, the candidate is expected to adhere to current processes and procedures, participate in document reviews, attend limited meetings, provide status as requested, and collaborate with team members in person and electronically. JOB REQUIREMENTS Candidate must be a US Citizen and must possess a Secret Security Clearance. BS in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited university and at least 2-5 years' experience. Ability to collaborate in a team environment Strong ability to work independently and perform as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience scripting in Python (or similar language) Previous experience with the Missile Defense Agency or ballistic missile defense system Strong, concise technical writing capabilities Data collection, documentation, and reporting on all responsibilities as required. Perform other duties as assigned to realize mission success DESIRED EXPERIENCE Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software defects Experience with missile defense systems, modeling and simulation, and statistical analysis Good understanding of Missile Defense System elements or components or equivalent system of system environments Experience with validation of models and simulations against tactical data Experience with test automation (including regression, verification, and validation) Scenario development support About CFD Research: Since its inception in 1987, CFD Research has been a technology leader in engineering simulations and innovative designs.
