SAFETY ASSISTANT Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for an organized and detail-orientated worker who enjoys working independently. As the Safety Assistant you would provide administrative support the Corporate Safety Director. HOURS AND WAGE: Monday- Friday, 8:00AM- 5:00PM Starting wage: $18- $24/ hour, based on experience DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Accepts inbound calls regarding incidents, gathers pertinent information, and notifies relevant departments Records and follows up on incident reports, notifies insurance company, and obtains police reports Collects, analyzes, and reports data to Federal Government agencies to prove department is compliant with local, state, and federal safety laws, guidelines, and ordinances Coordinates licensing and registration of company vehicles Responds to questions on hazardous material to ensure proper shipping Audits and identifies discrepancies in electronic drivers logs Assists with the coordination of projects of the department, including those related to emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates Performs other related duties as assigned YOU ARE A GREAT FIT IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree preferred Excellent written and verbal skills Proficient with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn applicable software systems Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA, and general safety protocols Hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record which meets company standards Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check BENEFITS: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.
