As individuals we are great, and together we are even better so come help us make a difference as we are currently seeking a full-time Metals Technician II to join our team in Augusta, Georgia. This position involves the visual inspection of structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, field inspection and performing non-destructive testing. Other responsibilities include coordinating testing assignments on various projects, maintaining testing equipment, report preparation and field work including safely climbing steel structures like buildings, cell phone towers and water tanks to heights in excess of 200 feet. Overtime hours, evenings, and weekend work may be required to fulfill project needs during periods of peak workload. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED 2 years metals testing experience Able to work at heights in excess of 200 feet; AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required or ability to obtain within 12 months; Willingness to travel on possible extended out-of-town projects; Experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems; Good technical writing and verbal communication skills; Ability to work with environmental exposures in a safe manner. Preferred Qualifications: ICC Bolting certification Level II for UT, PT, MT certifications Why work at S&ME?
