Position Summary: Contributes to the Starbucks success by providing legendary customer service to all customers. Creates the Starbucks experience for customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture, values and mission of IPCC/IPMI/Starbucks. Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standards and to set a positive example for the shift team. Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Assists with new hire training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance and communication them to the store management. Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs. Follows policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift. Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that associates can locate resources and product as needed. Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products. Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods. Must be able to successfully complete Starbucks training requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to pass required barista training program within 15 days of hire. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. Native American preference given. Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications: Skilled in effectively communicating with customers and staff. Skilled in handling interpersonal relationships. Ability to act with a customer comes first attitude and deliver customer service that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment. Ability to deliver excellent customer service. Ability to work as part of a team. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
