Summary of Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the unit supervisor, this person provides emergency mental health coordination of care. Services are available 24 hours a day and daily throughout the year. This person is responsible for providing emergency mental health services including, but not limited to, authorizing warrants for involuntary psychiatric services, providing follow-up support to individuals served, and coordinating support services post-emergency. Staff members within the unit provide service on a rotating schedule during defined hours. Given the nature of the work, on-call and holiday hours are required. Essential Functions: Respond to emergency situations involving individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Collaborate with emergency and first responders when needed to ensure that individuals have the needed care and support during times of crisis. Provide support to individuals in crisis including coordinating inpatient care and services when needed which may include ensuring required paperwork and authorization for inpatient care and services. Ensure that appropriate documentation is obtained and maintained so that the individuals receive needed care and support including follow-up services. Coordinate with providers of service including, but not limited to, crisis providers, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to ensure that individuals have the needed support and care. Employment Requirements: Automobile and Valid Insurance, Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check, Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), Drug Screening Clearance Working Conditions: Prolonged periods working on a computer in an open office environment or community, comfortable communicating through virtual technology, daily travel in local county area(s) to various provider and consumer locations, work will require evening and weekend hours and during adverse weather conditions, must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
