Work part time, flexible hours Monday-Thursday. Your pick what hours work best for your schedule!! Machine Operator General operation of the CNC Machines to produce a variety of machined parts. Responsible for first inspection and inspection during production. Responsibilities: Use micrometers, calipers, pin gages, comparator and various other inspection equipment appropriately Turn on machine. Inspect for obvious problems. Load and execute programs Load material into vises as required, making sure all chips have been cleaned out of clamping areas before tightly securing vise jaws Verify product passes first inspection at beginning of each shift and every inspection quantity specified on the work order (i.e.: Every 15 pieces). During the middle of a run, the parts should be measured while the machine is running after a quick visual inspection while parts are being relocated of taken out of the machine. If a part fails, contact engineering and/or production manager before continuing. Adjustments will be made by set-up personnel until the product meets requirements. Operate machine watching and listening for possible problems. (I.e. Loud noises, unusual sounds, broken or worn tooling etc.) Ability to understand and modify tool offsets Inspect and replace broken/worn tooling. Ability to touch off newly installed tooling Ability to meet or exceed production rates stated on work order Read, understand information in workmanship standards Fill out appropriate sections of work order Handle, store, use micrometers, calipers, gages appropriately Perform and document S&R inspection procedures when appropriate (SPC charts, work orders, move tickets) Identify nonconforming product or material Wash tools and return to storage area Oil, lube, clean and perform minor repairs as needed Communicate with tool room or maintenance as required by supervisor Know and follow safety standards Participate in corrective actions as required Move parts to next operation Remove scrap Help with set-up operations Physical and Visual Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity-far/near depth perception, field of vision and accommodation. Physical Demands: Lift up to 75 pounds Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Indoor conditions, noise, hazards, odors, toxic conditions, dust Job Qualification Requirements: Knowledge High school graduate or equivalent; reading, basic math, blue print reading Three to five years' experience with metal stamping, wire forming machinery Tool design, machine repair helpful Experience Training Period: 3 months to a year Machines, Tools, Equipment Machines specifically circles in question 2 during interview, micrometers, calipers, hand tools Information/Directions Written and verbal work instructions, workmanship standards book (engineer drawings), quality control documentation (work orders, move tickets)
