A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT ANIMAL CONTROL WARDEN As an Assistant Animal Control Warden, you spend your day enforcing City ordinances and laws regarding animals through the governance of the licensing, responding to emergency calls, and patrolling the city for stray or dangerous animal's impoundment and treatment of animals. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. When you are not out in the city, you assist in creating recurring reports and records, assembling information, servicing the public with tact and resourcefulness, maintaining a thorough knowledge of animal control policies and procedures, and other duties as required. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with great people skills in providing excellent customer service to all our customers, and finds genuine enjoyment in what you do! QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ASSISTANT ANIMAL CONTROL WARDEN Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Associated degree experience preferred. No previous experience required. One (1) year of related experience preferred. Must have a current and valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety Receive an Animal Control Certification, Euthanasia Certification, Animal Tranquilizer Certification once employed. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the city's expense Bilingual English/Spanish Are you someone who can handle multiple tasks?
