Position Summary: Prepares baked goods and pastry items from the menu. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Prepares oven bread and fry bread daily for the Restaurant, events and for sale to customers. Assists in preparing the kitchen for daily breakfasts and lunches by filling the line with the proper amounts of food. Assists in ensuring that all food items are prepared fresh and served at proper temperatures. Operates food preparation machinery including slicers, mincers, can openers, fryers, ovens etc. Prepares weekly supply of pies, breads, cookies and cakes. Reports any equipment malfunction to Kitchen Manager. Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment. Assists other kitchen staff as needed upon the request of management. Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: One-year experience in the baking or kitchen food preparation field. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. Native American preference will be given. Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications: Knowledge of food preparation methods and techniques. Knowledge of operation of food preparation equipment and machinery. Knowledge of operation of holding ovens and baking ovens. Knowledge of Native American dishes. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with supervisor and fellow employees. Ability to work in a busy, fast paced work environment and to perform in a professional appearance and manner. Ability to work well under pressure. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment: Work is generally performed in the restaurant and kitchen area with exposure to heat, fumes and steam. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
