Position Overview Under the direction of the Manager, Resident Care and the Coordinator, Volunteer Services, completes clerical support functions related to Volunteer Services. Experience Previous experience in the health care environment preferred. Previous experience in a similar position preferred. Previous experience with Excel, Word, Power Point, Publisher and Outlook required. Previous experience in basic accounting skills preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade XII graduate, Manitoba standards. Successful completion of a recognized clerical/administrative assistant training program required. Certification/Licensure/Registration Not applicable Qualifications and Skills Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point), the use of the Internet and HIPPO program. Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation. Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of members of the health care team. Knowledge of relevant Workplace Safety and Health responsibilities. Keyboarding skills with an accuracy of 50 wpm. Ability to work under minimal supervision, using good judgment and asking for guidance, direction when necessary. Ability to express ideas and thoughts in English both verbally and in written format.
