Engineering Lead, Payments & Core Banking Engineering The Role: Contributes to the overall success of the Payments & Core Banking Engineering globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. What will you do? • Lead the Engineering team to delivery on business values through planning, discovery, execution and learning phases. • Identify and address team and program level disfunctions. • Monitor program level risks and dependencies, sharing information with value stream stakeholders. • Collaborate at the program level with peers to ensure effective and efficient communication between teams. • Support program level workshops in training teams on Agile frameworks/methodology. • Be the change champion to create structural and cultural changes in the organization to become more agile. • Setup and drive Co P (communities of practice) within the program/portfolio. • Coach and mentor team members and leadership • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
