Date Posted: 12/15/2023 Req ID: 35400 Faculty/Division: Vice-Provost, Students Department: Office of Vice-Provost, Students Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: Position Summary: The Executive Director provides senior leadership and oversight to the Office of the Vice-Provost Students (OVPS). The incumbent oversees and directs the implementation of the priorities and directions set by the Vice Provost Students (VPS). The Executive Director identifies and oversees critical administrative, human resources, and operational issues on behalf of the VPS, and manages and supports a wide range of high-level and confidential activities related to the VPS’s portfolio. The incumbent takes a lead role in the execution of various initiatives, addresses urgent issues, manages the VPS’s interactions with the governance process, and provides advice and feedback to the VPS. Key areas of responsibility include: management of the day-to-day operations of the OVPS, including providing direction and supervision to members of the OVPS staff team; oversight of OVPS communications, including communicating and following up with internal and external parties on issues of importance to, and on decisions taken by, the VPS; responding to issues and managing matters/responses on behalf of the VPS; managing relationships across the University’s three campuses; and managing and providing support and guidance to campus partners regarding student issues and student crises as they arise. The Executive Director works closely with the University’s senior administrative team. Except for those projects delegated to the Executive Director, Strategic Initiatives (ED, SI) or the Executive Director, Strategy, Programs & Operations (ED, SPO), the incumbent is the senior staff person contact for the OVPS with other faculties and divisions, the Offices of the President and Provost, the Secretary of Governing Council, the other Vice-Presidents and Vice-Provosts, etc. .
