Availability of this position is pending the outcome of the internal competition. This position will be required to perform a broad range of duties in efficient and effective diagnosis, preventive maintenance and general repairs within all mechanical and hydraulic aspects of a wide variety of municipal fleet, equipment and machinery, including gas-operated tools and grounds equipment, refuse packers, sweepers, snow removal equipment, automotive vehicles, construction equipment and diesel engines. Deployment to other duties may be required from time to time. Required Skills, Qualifications and Abilities: Completion of Grade 12. Possession of a valid B. C. Ministry of Labour Certificate of Qualification for Automotive Mechanic or a valid B. C. Certificate of Qualification for Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Mechanic. Ten (10) years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in a municipal equipment repairs environment; at least six (6) years of which were as a heavy duty mechanic. Possession and maintenance of a valid Class 3 B. C. Driver's License; a satisfactory current driver's abstract will be required... Visit ListedBuy for more information.
