The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Summary: The shop Assistant is responsible to the Regional Director of shop and shop site Managers and provides services in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, professional regulations and standards and Provincial and Federal statutes. Principle functions will be to provide drug distribution services, including sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs, for inpatients and outpatients at the assigned locations. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud. Qualifications: • Proficiency of both official languages is essential (English/French) • Grade XII • Certificate from a recognized shop Technician Course • Previous experience in a hospital shop setting is preferred • Basic computer experience is required • Typing Skills (minimum 40wpm) • Basic math and accounting skills • Demonstrated effective written and oral communications skills • Demonstrated interpersonal.
