We are currently seeking a General & Operational Accounting Advisor to join our team in nova Scotia, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA). This position will provide technical accounting leadership, analysis, and support on the appropriate application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company policies personnel globally. They will (1) work with the operations, finance and accounting functions to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for new and existing customer contracts, (2) research accounting issues for new transactions and new accounting pronouncements and document conclusions, (3) work directly with pricing, finance, delivery, legal and others to identify and resolve significant accounting issues, (4) assist with the development and maintenance of accounting policies in accordance with IFRS, (5) assist with developing and presenting training for the Controllership organization, (6) assist with month-end and quarter-end accounting responsibilities such as analyzing liabilities, preparing analyses and recording journal entries. This role includes a component of consulting which requires both written and verbal guidance on accounting matters, accounting pronouncements and company policy to peers and leaders.
