DescriptionThe Therapeutic Day Treatment Provider (TDT), provides therapeutic services to youth with behavioral and emotional difficulties in their educational and home settings. Works directly with youth, as well as their families, to identify needs, develop treatment objectives, and provide strategies and support. Works independently with clients but will also be a member of a larger treatment team in order to ensure progress and continuing needs are addressed.Starting Salary: $38,251-Depending on ExperienceResponsibility * Maintains a manageable, therapeutic caseload for treatment delivery and will meet budgeted expectations as discussed with supervisor. * Writes effective, behaviorally specific and measurable Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) for assigned individuals as required by policy. Ensures supports and interventions are provided as outlined in the treatment plan. Collaborate with team to ensure plans are reviewed quarterly and updated as needed. * Maintains all communications, both written and verbal, with respect and confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 standards and regulations. * Performs at the expected levels of individual and team productivity. Ensures all client records are in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements including guidelines as they pertain to DBHDS Licensure Regulations, Waiver, State Plan and Clinic Options Medicaid. * Promotes positive communication and collaboration among team members and other community resources needed to provide quality services. Conducts self in a professional manner at all times. Participates in team meetings unless absence is excused, completes proper written communication and relays other helpful information as necessary by voice mail and/or e-mail. Serves on designated teams, committees and work groups including Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, school meetings, and local Family Assessment Planning Team (FAPT) meetings. * Provides direct and related services needed to ensure clients' needs are addressed. Provides psycho-education, supportive counseling, crisis resolution, and general problem-solving to clients and their families/care providers and other staff as needed. Provides direct care in the classroom and outside of the classroom setting when appropriate. * Provides follow through and continuity of care including: discharge, referral, placement, follow-up appointments and liaison services. Collaborates with case manager/lead service provider at least monthly and maintains weekly contact with the family and provides documentation of this collaboration in the record. * Assists with crisis resolution and general problem-solving. Ensures services are provided with respect to the dignity of the individuals served as outlined in the State and NRVCS Human Rights Plans. Advocates for services on behalf of individuals served and their families/care givers as needed. Documents and reports suspected violations of Human Rights according to NRVCS policies. Must be accessible from home occasionally, to help assist with client emergencies and crises as needed. * Ensures all required certifications and/or licensure are kept up to date. Attends/provides other training as required to meet personal professional development and/or program needs. * Performs other related tasks as assigned by Supervisor, Program Manager and/or Director. Qualifications * Requires demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention models and theories and resources available to help children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and developmental disabilities, including individuals with co-occurring, and their families/care givers in the community. * Knowledge of best practice treatments for mental health, substance use, intellectual and developmental disability, and co-occurring disorders. * Thorough knowledge of DSM-V etiology, symptoms, treatment, and prognoses. * Knowledge of and ability to administer various treatments and therapeutic modalities as appropriate and/or prescribed. * Basic knowledge of agency, local, state, and federal regulations; Medicaid guidelines; standards for clinical services; and related human rights, ethical, and legal concerns. * Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. * Basic working knowledge of pertinent medical, legal, and financial terminology; and psychopharmacology. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team; think critically and problem solve effectively; and recognize and respond to crises appropriately. * Must possess a valid driver's license (state of Virginia, unless otherwise approved by agency) with an acceptable driving record. Must maintain acceptable record throughout employment. * Must have an acceptable criminal history background and child protective services check upon hire and maintained throughout employment; * Must have acceptable drug screen results upon hire. Education/Experience Required: * A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other human services field is required. * One year of experience working with emotionally disturbed youth is preferred. * Registration as a QMHP or QMHP trainee as set forth by the Virginia Board of Counseling is required
