The Senior Technical Specialist is responsible for accomplishing core or critical technical or significant business area specific functions. These responsibilities include interpreting complex information and making subjective decisions that have a high level of risk or that may have legal, regulatory or financial implications. Decision must ensure collaboration with a variety of roles and support functions within and across multiple business areas. It requires a strong understanding of rules and regulations and the impact they have on the business area functions, systems and controls and ability to identify inherent and potential risks and implement recommendations to help mitigate. The Senior Technical Specialist will lead and/or serve as a subject matter expert on medium sized business area projects or initiatives. Direct or manage one or more systems in order to deliver new technology or system upgrades through gathering requirements, developing and executing system tests, providing readiness sign off and supporting all aspects of implementation. In addition, ensuring timely escalation of issues that would create significant risk to the project or initiative deliverables, or present risk to the firm or client, is critical to the role. Other responsibilities may include: Train and coach associates within or across multiple business areas. Analyze, research and interpret complex information utilizing a high degree of industry and regulatory knowledge related to the business area. Subject matter expert on multiple business area functions including a deep understanding of both how and why the work is performed. Serve as business area floater, generalist or workflow coordinator when business needs arise. Frequent communication with home office leaders, large groups of associates, and/or vendors to resolve issues, answer escalated questions and carry out responsibilities.
