The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is a not-for-profit, government-funded facility that honours Jewish values and traditions while welcoming seniors of all backgrounds. We Offer: Affordable staff meals in our onsite cafe Regular Staff Appreciation events Employee Assistance Program HEPP Pension HEB Benefits including Health & Dental POSITION SUMMARY Picks up and delivers linen and personal clothing to and from all units. Documents the number of kilograms before placing laundry into the washing machines. Disinfects soiled laundry bins each time they are emptied. Identifies residents clothing which need repair and place in the designated box for repair. Responsible for washing, drying and folding of clothing and linens. Removes garbage from the laundry department the designated garbage bin and maintains the cleanliness of the work area. Performs duties/responsibilities as may be required to meet the operational objectives of the service or the facility. QUALIFICATIONS Successful completion of Grade 10. Must successfully pass a pre- hire test. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Two years of relevant work experience preferably in health care. Demonstrated knowledge of the operation of laundry equipment. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety and Safe Work Practices. OTHER Must have good. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
