The Master of Forensic Accounting Program is a 10-course program offered at the graduate level, primarily on a distance education basis, using a problem-based learning model supplemented by web- and email-based sessions. The Program currently has the following Sessional Lecturer position available for the Summer term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students. No late applications can be considered. Posting date: November 15, 2023 Closing date: D ecember 5, 2023 Course title: Legal & Legal Process Issues for Forensic Accountants ( IFA 1907H ) # of Positions: 1 (Instructor) Class schedule: Online sessions will typically be scheduled on Wednesdays from 19:00-22:00 EST/EDT Dates of appointment: May 28, 2024 – July 23, 2024 Description of course: Forensic accountants are called upon to investigate possible breaches of contracts, laws, or regulations, and to prepare reports that could be actionable in court, if necessary. IFA1907H will review relevant laws and court related procedures to prepare the forensic accountant to fulfil their duties without offering legal expertise. Specific topics that will be covered will include: employment or labour law; family law; electronic commerce and intellectual property law; rules of civil procedure, trial and alternative dispute resolution processes; remedies and measures of damages, fraudulent conveyances, and assignments; criminal law and procedure; and administrative law.
