What Does a Truck and Heavy Equipment Technician Do? Under general supervision, the Licensed Truck & Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance work, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of systems, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairs of construction related equipment. As a Truck and Heavy Equipment Technician, You Will: Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times in support of Miller’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures in order to make repairs per the manufacturer’s specifications Maintain and service a fleet of trucks, pavement preservation and heavy construction equipment Repair of heavy trucks, including engines, hydraulics, electrical and heavy power train, aftertreatment diagnostics/repairs Perform preventative and predictive maintenance Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns and on-road/off-site repairs Complete daily service documentation electronically Able to perform services on electrical, hydraulic, power train, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment Timely and accurate.
