We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Project Manager , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Summary: To manage and deliver multiple complex projects simultaneously across the Leisure Directorate. This role includes project management, financial management, preparation and submission of internal and external funding bids, quality management; active engagement with local communities and developing relationships with Councillors and other stakeholders. Responsibilities: Leads on the preparation, specification, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of complex capital and revenue-funded projects that will have a positive effect on the boroughs cultural, leisure and green infrastructure, supporting the Councils strategic goals. Works within a governance framework, establishing clearly defined objectives and benefits and monitors success criteria, setting appropriate controls and reporting on project progress, in a timely and efficient manner. Resolves issues, manages project risks and applies lessons learned to improve future projects and embed best practice. Provides expert advice and gives input to the Programme Manager on capital programme planning, contract specifications, commissioning of projects, and managing procurement. Develops and implements regular review of the Directorates capital programme. Prepares procurement documents, awards, manages and reports on contracts in accordance with the councils procurement and approvals procedures. Monitors against a range of performance indicators ensuring conditions of contracts are met. Prepares, manages and robustly monitors project budgets ensuring financial resource limits are not exceeded, and that corporate standards are adhered to.
