We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hackney to assist with the appointment of a Estates Technician , on a 2.5-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Responsibilities: Assist the Compliance Manager in respect of the Commercial Estates Service to Health and Safety compliance within the Commercial and VCS property portfolios. Work with the Head of Service and Principal Surveyors to develop the Commercial Estates Services use of Propman (or any replacement for Propman). Assist the senior estates technician in respect of the Commercial Estates Service to the management of void properties including weekly inspections, security arrangements, maintenance, H&S matters, and marketing and letting of void units. Be the main point of contact with internal and external auditors and be responsible for ensuring that recommendations in audit reports are actioned. Represent the Division and Council externally on specific property matters and working groups. Support the Principal Surveyor on financial management issues affecting the service Undertake such other duties as reasonably directed by the Head of Commercial Estates and Principal Surveyors. Qualifications: Proficient in word processing Demonstrable ability to manage a portfolio of commercial properties. Good commercial landlord and tenant knowledge. Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and practice relating to commercial properties. Excellent ICT skills and able to use a variety of software packages.
