An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Flood Risk and Drainage Specialist with a keen interest in nature based solutions to join a specialist consultancy firm who specialise in building consultancy across all sectors. With a flexible approach to office / remote working, this consultancy are looking for a Flood Risk Specialist to join their growing team in order to assist with the influx of projects they have brought on in the past year. You will be part of a technical team helping to deliver the modelling and reports for the projects. The types of projects you will work on are predominantly in infrastructure and housing, however, there are opportunities to work across all sectors on a range of major national projects. The ideal candidate will have: 3-5 years’ experience in consultancy Experience of hydraulic modelling using either: Flood Modeller, Tuflow, Info Works ICM, Hec-RAS. Experience of using GIS software using QGIS, Arc GIS, Map Info. Knowledge or experience of hydrological analysis such as: FEH, WINFAP and Re FH2. Experience of managing and analysing large complex datasets (this may be in Excel or similar software). Understanding of hydrological and hydraulic principles and their practical application in the water environment. Experience of writing flood risk backssments and technical reports for flood studies. Relevant degree in geography, environmental science, or engineering and appropriate knowledge of flood risk practices and techniques. Preferably a relevant post graduate qualification too. Experience of working within a team and able to demonstrate good communication skills (verbal and written) to colleagues and clients. Ideally a non-chartered member and working towards chartered status of a relevant institution (for example CIWEM, ICE). The client is happy to consider applications on an individual basis and are open to candidates with varying levels of experience and / or stages in their career. If you are.
